Mahfuza Rahman
Missing: December 2015
A nurse who works at Bellevue Hospital Center has gone missing and detectives were combing her Bronx home Monday for clues to her whereabouts, sources said.
Mahfuza Rahman, 30, was reported missing by her co-workers on Friday after they were told that she had traveled to her native Bangladesh last December but never returned, according to police sources.
Detectives zoned in on a room in her Norwood home after a dog from the NYPD’s canine unit picked up a suspicious scent.
“Crime-scene [investigators] are looking at a second-story back room today,” a source said on Monday.
Investigators also dug up concrete that had recently been laid in front of the home, a source said.
Rahman has not been seen since Dec. 8 2015, when she failed to show up for her shift.
After not seeing her for several days, colleagues contacted her husband, Mohammad Chowdhury.
He initially said his wife had traveled to Bangladesh for a family emergency and said she would be returning to work in early March.
But when she never reported back, a co-worker reported her missing.
Meanwhile, Chowdhury and the couple’s daughter have since left the country for Bangladesh, the sources said.

Her husband, Mohammed Chowdhury is wanted for questioning in regards to the disappearance of his wife Mahfuza. He fled to Bangladesh.

Re: Mahfuza Rahman
In all honesty I hope that it is, as horrible as this my sound, the circumstances surrounding her disappearance makes me believe no good outcome, therefore her family and friends need closure . I'm waiting still to hear from pix11 news investigator Mary Murphy, to see what she got.

I hope they contact the Detective at NYPD. I don't see the harm in doing so either.
