Jaques Chaput-Sumpter County Doe?

Could Jaques Chaput be Sumpter John Doe? The name Jacques Chaput caught my attention right away so I started looking at his profile.

Details of Disappearance

On October 15, 1977, Jacques Chaput left the family home in Trois-Rivières following a fight he had with his mother, and never returned.
Several steps were taken by his family to locate him, but they were unsuccessful.
He was officially declared missing by his family in 2013.

His family didn't report him missing for a very long time. He was only 17 years old, which was a possibility in the first estimate of his age. I know the initials, JPF, on his ring don't match the F but could he have come from a blended family? I started wondering if there were any doctors named Chaput in Canada. His father would either be retired or passed by now but I did find a Dr. Chaput in Canada that may be a brother? He seems to be quite prominent.

This was in a reference list on one of his publications. Notice the 3rd name in line 4-Same initials as the ring on Sumpter Doe.

I see a resemblance although the doctor is much older than Jacques was at the time of his disappearance. They appear to have similar facial structures. The 1st two initials in the doctors initials match the ring initials JP. I am wondering why the family waited until 2013 to officially report him missing. Were they so upset with him for not wanting to become a doctor? Sumpter Doe stated he was a teacher at one time. He could not have been a teacher at 17. If he and Sumpter Jane were running drugs it would have made sense for him to make up a back story. The only reason I think the doctor story may be plausible is due to the initials on the ring and the resemblance to Dr. Jean-Phillipe Chaput.
Could his brother have followed in their father's footsteps?
