Kayla Berg Empty Kayla Berg

Kayla had one friend in particular that Hope Sprenger, Kayla's mother, says she did not approve of: Kayla's 19-year-old boyfriend, Miguel Marrero. He was four years older than Kayla.
"Miguel's house was kind of a party spot," said Antigo Police Chief Eric Roller. "The kids from Antigo were going there on a regular basis, every weekend at least, and had a lot of girls and young people living at this house."
Hope Sprenger says she didn't want her daughter to be one of them. So she took drastic action, moving Kayla about as far south from Antigo, Wisconsin as they could get, to Lampasas, Texas. Unfortunately, circumstances back home wouldn't let them go so easily.
"We had ended up coming back up here, her dad was not doing well," said Hope. "I felt the need that she needed to be by her dad in case something did happen."
That's a decision she now says haunts her. It was August 11, 2009. Kayla and Hope had only been back for a little over a week when Kayla told her mom she was going out.
Then, at some point, Kayla made contact with a 24-year-old man named Kevin Kielcheski.
"Kevin Kielcheski was a friend of Kayla's older brother," said Hope. "They would all kind of hang out together."
In fact, the rumor was that Kielcheski hung out with a lot of the teens around town.
"Everything we had heard, he was kind of on a level mentally maybe closer to these 15, 16-year-old, 17-year-olds that he was hanging around with," said Chief Roller. "I think maybe a lot of the younger kids were taking advantage of him. He could get the marijuana, and he was giving rides, and it sounded like that happened on a regular basis."
It's what Kevin later says happened that night with Kayla. She called him for a ride, and he offered to throw in a little extra as a "welcome home" gift.
"She wants to go see her friend Miguel in Wausau and Kevin said he agreed to take her to Wausau," said Roller.
But first, Kayla asks to make a quick stop to see a friend at McDonald's.
"They saw Kevin with Kayla at the McDonald's. He was waiting for her in the car, but they were together, and that's the last person besides Kevin that we know has seen Kayla. Kevin says he drove her over to Wausau, about 40 minutes away, and dropped her off at Miguel's house."
The next day, Kayla was gone. But it wasn't until nearly a full week later before anyone realized it.
"We had a lot of different stories on when somebody did really see her last," said Roper. "Kayla did spend a lot of time with her friends too and would go between houses and may not come home for a couple days. Initially we were going, 'Oh, no, she was just floating between friends.'"
Sadly, that would become wishful thinking. Already a week behind when Kayla is reported missing, police start retracing her last-known steps. And the trail leads them to the last place she was supposed to be: with Miguel Marrero.
Police bring Marrero in for questioning, but he tells them he hasn't seen Kayla, that she never came over that night, and he never admits to even having had a sexual relationship with Kayla.
"They had gone through the house and looked through the house many times. We had also searched his vehicle that he had been using, and nothing turned up on the search," said Roller.
Not long after that, Miguel Marrero "lawyered up." But he wasn't the only one police wanted to talk to. If Marrero was telling the truth, that made Kevin Kielcheski the last-known person to see Kayla alive.
The problem with Kielcheski's story of dropping Kayla at Marrero's house? The address he gave police wasn't even where Marrero had been staying.
"When he got dropped off at the house, it was condemned," said Roller. "There was issues with water coming into the house and they were told they couldn't be in the house until they had some processes fixed.
"That's very suspicious, and her friends have told us after that she was aware that he wasn't at that house," said Chief Roller.
But Kielcheski insists that's where he dropped Kayla off, and there was no evidence to say otherwise. However, that didn't mean he was home free. He was eventually arrested for reckless endangerment.
"That was for his activity of taking a 15-year-old girl, smoking marijuana with her and leaving her at a house that he wasn't sure she got to," said Roller. "It was dismissed in court. They felt that there was not enough evidence. We didn't have a victim at that point, because we don't have Kayla. We don't know where she's at."
A question hundreds of tips, and multiple searches over several years have yet to answer.

[The Antigo Police Department may have uncovered new clues in the Kayla Berg case. Berg is a missing teenager from Antigo who disappeared August, 11th, 2009. Police found items on Kevin Kielcheski's property last week. Sgt. Dan Duley says things of interest were found, but it is no indication that Berg was on his property. He wouldn't say what the items are. Kielcheski, 26, of Deerbrook in Langlade County is charged with second degree reckless endangerment and according to police is the last known person to see Berg. Kielcheski will make a court appearance in June regarding a motion to dismiss the case against him for lack of evidence.

The two arrived at McDonald’s at approximately 9:00 pm where Kayla ran inside to speak briefly with a friend. She told her friend she planned to ride around with brothers friend for awhile before leaving the Mc. Donalds at approximately 9:30pm.
According to the friend of her brother, he dropped Kayla off at approximately 10:00 pm at the home of her boyfriend. He said she got out of the vehicle and walked towards to the house as he drove off. He said the house was very dark and no lights were on inside.
The house in which Kayla requested to be dropped off was, in fact, condemned. Several weeks earlier the health department boarded the house up and it was undergoing renovations on the evening that Kayla got out of the vehicle and headed towards the house.According to family, Kayla knew no one was living there.
Law enforcement caught up with the friend who drove Kayla around that evening. He was found at his parent house, approximately 45 minutes away in the town of Deerbrook. The parents of the driver  were able to confirm that he had returned to the home a little before midnight.

Police are still investigating the disappearance of 15-year old Kayla Berg, even after she’s been missing for seven years. The video discovered by the police has been declared fake. Berg’s family is distraught but is still holding on to hope that she will be found.
If it’s a joke, then the people who made this video about Kalya Berg have a very sick sense of humor. If it’s real, then it is a very disturbing and cruel situation for a young girl like Berg to be in. We are talking about the Kalya Berg video, which has been discovered on YouTube. Though it was posted within two months of Berg’s disappearance, it’s only now that it has come to the attention of the police. The Antigo Police have examined the video and have called the Kayla Berg video fake. Kayla Berg was just 15 years-old when she disappeared from Wausau, Wisconsin, in 2009. Just check out the Kayla Berg wiki page on the Internet.

Gone, Girl
Berg disappeared in August 2009 without a clue. Her friend dropped Berg off at her boyfriend’s place in Wausau, Wisconsin, and she has not been seen since. If she is alive, she would be a 23-year-old young woman today. The police investigated the case but could not find Berg. She seems to have vanished into thin air, leaving behind a shattered family still desperate for answers. In the video posted two months after Berg’s disappearance, a girl is seen screaming and cowering in fear in a bathroom, while a man is seen entering it.
Mysterious Videos Surface
The video is titled “Hi, Walter! I got a new gf today! Hi, Walter! It’s me Patrick!” The video has gone viral in the past few days and people are watching it with morbid fascination. People who have watched it are asking, “Who is Walter?” and “Who is Patrick?” Some people have theorized that this Walter might be the Milwaukee serial killer, Walter Ellis who killed several women during his killing spree. Milwaukee is just three hours from Antigo. No one knows who Patrick is, yet. The man in the video is also seen on another video on YouTube acting out different scenes with a woman wearing a wig. The Antigo Police have come to the conclusion that this second video is an obvious acting attempt by the individuals in it. The intriguing thing is that this second video was posted on October 9, 2009.got ...The Last Glimpse of Berg
The friend who dropped Berg at her boyfriend’s place between 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. said that it looked like the house was empty, as all the lights were out. He says he never even saw her go inside. He also claims that he has nothing to do with Berg’s disappearance. The police spoke to him and have cleared him of any wrong-doing. Berg’s boyfriend also claims that he never saw her that night, nor has he seen her since. The police have taken this matter seriously and are continuing their investigation on the case. In fact, the FBI is offering $20,000 as a reward for anyone giving any clues which could lead to Kayla Berg being found.
It’s Not Over Yet
Berg’s family is distraught at her disappearance. Her mother has made an appeal on her Facebook page pleading for answers. Initially, police thought that Berg might have run away, but later abandoned this angle because they found out that Berg was a happy young teenager and not depressed about living with her family. She was interested in gymnastics and had a dream of representing her high school gymnastics team. However, all this came to end on August 11, 2009 when she went missing. Both the police and the community in Antigo are working hard to find Berg, even though it’s been seven years since she has disappeared. You can help too. If you have any information regarding Berg which might help find her, then please call the Antigo Police Department at 715-627-6411. Remember every second counts. Berg must be found and reunited with her grieving family.

Kayla Berg Empty Re: Kayla Berg

Post by wmartin Thu Nov 17, 2016 12:21 pm

Thursday marked seven years since Antigo's Kayla Berg went missing. But even as the time has passed, family and friends have not given up hope.

Thursday they gathered in Antigo for the sixth consecutive year for a balloon release to spread the word that Kayla is still missing.

http://www.wjfw.com/storydetails/20160811211236

Kayla's mother, Hope Sprenger, won't stop looking for her daughter. She refuses to give up on finding Kayla.

"I'm the only one that's going to be her voice so I have to keep it going and keep things aware. And make people aware that she's still out there and still missing," said Sprenger.

Kayla went missing on August 11, 2009, after getting dropped off at her boyfriend's house in Wausau. Even though seven years have passed without many tips, the community's support and help doesn't go unnoticed.

"It means a lot," said Sprenger. "It shows the support I have from the community, family, friends, the group here 'Missing Not Forgotten'. It means more than really words can possibly to be begin to describe."

Missing Not Forgotten traveled to Wausau to spread the word about Kayla.

"We stood out in front of Colonial Manor with made-up posters of Kayla Berg," said family friend Christine Reimer. "We flew her banner when we were there. It was a couple hours, just to make awareness there that if that is a theory, that maybe someone there knows something that we don't know yet."

Sprenger was in Wausau recently for that day as well, even though it wasn't easy.

"It was good but bad. I didn't like being in that area. It was a lot of mixed emotions, kind of sickening feeling," Sprenger said. "But again, you have to remain strong and do what you have to do. That's what keeps me going."

The hope of finding Kayla keeps them going. And on Thursday night, Kayla's information was printed on each of the 700 balloons released.

"Awareness, keeping her name out there. The public needs to be aware that she's still missing and we're still looking for answers. That includes anything that anybody has on the whereabouts of Kayla," said Reimer.

If you have any information on Kayla Berg, please call the Langlade County Crime Stoppers at (715) 627-6245.
